We have to admit that when we saw this video we smiled because Madam CJ Walker was definitely ahead of her time. Who would’ve thought an orphaned Black female growing up in the Jim Crow era would create an entrepreneurial business model that still reigns supreme today.

Vancouver Canada’s 1st Black Community
Hogan’s Alley has a rich Black history that many people may not know. The unofficial name for it was Park Lane which was an area that ran between Union and Prior Street from about Main Street to Jackson Avenue in Vancouver.

Booker T. Washington
Born a slave April 5th, 1856 in Hale’s Ford, Westlake Corner, Virginia, Booker T. Washington became one of the most celebrated educators and orators in the world.
Booker Taliaferro Washington was an American educator, author, orator and advisor to multiple Presidents of the United States. Between 1890 and 1915, Washington was a dominant leader in the African community and the contemporary black elite.
