A Salute To Colin Kaepernick And Nike

I want to start the day with a salute to Colin Kaepernick and Nike. I’ve never been more proud to wear Nike products than I am today and I will definitely be purchasing a new Kaepernick Jersey as well as other Nike clothing and apparel.

As many of you know I am a huge supporter of Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful protest against the murdering of unarmed black people and the injustices carried out against people of color in America. I chose to live in Canada because of the historically deeply rooted racial discrimination and oppression that continues today. Although I am an American living in Canada (AmeriCanadian), I will never shy away from speaking out against injustices against people who are socially oppressed.

The Tragic Death of Stephon Clark

Today is Throwback Thursday and I started to post a throwback picture on my Facebook as a lot of us do.

However, given the recent unnecessary tragic death of Stephan Clark, I am going to throwback to a conversation my mother and I had approximately 7 or 8 years ago.

She was very sick and was in the hospital for a period of time and during this period of time I seriously contemplated moving back to California to help my Mom and Dad and take some pressure off my sister.

I had a guilty feeling living in another country while my Mom was sick and my parents are growing older.

Obama Makes History

President Barack Obama was elected the first recognized African-American president of the United States on November 5, 2008, transcending centuries of inequality in America.

Millions of African-Americans and people of color all over the world were inspired throughout his rise to the presidency. His presidential slogan, “Yes We Can”, is one of the most inspiring slogans in history which still resonates with people today.

We honour President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their service and commitment to change in America. The videos below capture their rise to the Oval Office, special moments they shared and each one’s journey.
